Ramona Stafford Bagley has won many awards for her painting and drawing abilities both in the eastern states where she produced fine watercolors and illustrations, to the Southwest where she found oils and the practice of Plein Aire Painting to attract her. She has joined her own flair with an impressionist style drawn from that of artists earlier in this century. She found wonderful teachers among the famous Taos Six and it was through them that, 20 years ago, she learned the art of Plein Aire Painting and oils. The colors present in the enchanting Southwest landscape are delightfully put to canvas with vibrant painterly strokes which characterize her work. Many of her paintings express a charming and soothing quality and she has a special talent with the elements of water and the animal world. She has recently opened a Gallery attached to the New “Angel Fire Water” building and named It “the Water Works Gallery” it is located at 28 Fria Court which is just off the Blinking Light leading into Angel Fire.
